Uncorked in Italy
I began my wine adventure when I moved to Italy in 2004. In 2009, I qualified as a wine sommelier with the Associazione Italiana Sommelier in Milan. Fascinated by the more than 700 Italian grape varieties, I began traveling around Italy and writing about artisan winegrowers and their wines.
Along the way, I discovered organic, biodynamic and natural wines. For me, each of these wines is "a story in a bottle...a liquid record of the vintage year, the place, the weather, the vines, the soil, and the people, who accompanied the grapes in their journey.
The more I connected to the land, the history, the traditions and the more I knew about the people and the wines, the more I found metaphors for my own personal journey. Writing about wine became writing about life.
